The best beer gardens in all four corners of London

It is a truth universally acknowledged that London + summer sunshine = beer garden time. We've carried out a whole lot of, erm, gruelling research, to find the best places in the capital to enjoy a pint al fresco —think great views, greenery galore, and vibes so immaculate that you'll be tempted to stick around long after the weather inevitably turns gloomy again.

We've split our findings into four round ups: one for north London, another for south, one for east London, and another for west. Highlights include a multi-level treehouse (Finsbury Park's Faltering Fullback), an acres-large south London oasis (Earlsfield's The Leather Bottle), a sprawling terrace in the middle of a park (Pub on the Park in London Fields) and a riverside garden that maroons drinkers on their own personal island during high tide (Twickenham's White Swan).

In the unlikely event that you don't find the beer garden of dreams in among that lot, you can turn to our trusty pubs microsite. Just select the 'beer garden' filter and browse away.
