The house next door to where the late U.S. defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld used to live in Washington, D.C. has hit the market for a cool $5.8 million. Built in the late ‘70s, the Federal-style abode sits across the street from the French ambassador’s residence and has undergone a massive renovation since it last sold in May to a local developer. Altogether, the palatial estate comprises five bedrooms and six bathrooms across its 7,200 square feet. Architectural details include marble floors, soaring high ceilings, and steel-framed French doors. Additionally, the property sports a fireside living area, a formal dining room, a chef’s kitchen, and a game room and wellness space in the basement. Marking London’s first major real estate deal of 2025, a Grade-II listed mansion has sold for just shy of $47 million. The eight-bedroom estate in Belgravia dates back to 1827 when it belonged to the Ponsonby family, the Earls of Bessborough. Most recently, the Neoclassical mansion was owned by former billionaire financier Glenn Maud. Post-remodel, the turnkey abode holds five bedrooms suites, an elevator, and an indoor swimming pool.
