Last month, Forward Editor-in-Chief Jodi Rudoren shared an incredible story in her newsletter. Like so many New Yorkers, Jodi experienced terrible flooding in Hurricane Ida and lost some of her treasured possessions — including the hard copy of her first-ever front-page byline at The New York Times, published in 1998. Just a few weeks later, Bob Cumins, an accomplished local photographer, sent her something in the mail: a pristine copy of the front section of the Dec. 13, 1998 edition of The Times. The note from Bob read, “From my archive to yours.”
At the Forward, we understand the importance of archival records.
