Dear Reader, Next week, we’ll welcome in a new Jewish year. This is one of my favorite periods in our calendar — it’s a time of hope and optimism, when we lay the groundwork for sweetness and joy as we wipe our spiritual slates clean.
But this is also a season of gratitude. And as we get ready to greet 5783, I wanted to reach out to thank you for supporting the Forward in 5782 — and to ask you to support our work in honor of the year to come. |
It’s been a hard few years, with no end to challenges or tragedies. We’ve experienced a devastating pandemic, polarizing elections, rising antisemitism, and what feels like almost daily reports of violence and unnecessary loss. But we’ve also seen so many moments of incredible joy, hopefulness, and resilience. We caught up with the passionate activists and organizers mobilizing the Jewish response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, showcased the vibrant and powerful faces of Holocaust survivors in a new exhibit by photographer B.A. Van Sise, and profiled some of the dedicated Jewish volunteers fighting to protect their communities in Ukraine. Through it all, the Forward has been there: covering the events that shape our world through our bold, independent Jewish lens. When you make a gift to the Forward, you ensure that the Forward continues to publish powerful, independent American Jewish journalism from one year to the next.

Donate today in honor of all our coverage this past year, and to help us keep the conversation going in 5783 and beyond. In gratitude, |
