| MASSES FOR SAILORS The Archdiocese of the Military Services is calling on the U.S. Navy to reconsider its decision to terminate contracts with Catholic priests in the San Diego area as a cost-cutting measure. “For some time now, Archbishop Timothy Broglio has been engaged with the Navy Chief of Chaplains and has been trying to meet with those responsible for the decision,” said a spokesperson for the archdiocese. “The savings from cancelling these contracts amounts to $250,000 ... approximately 0.000156% of the Navy budget.” READ |

| DRILLING BAN President Trump signed an order extending the moratorium on offshore drilling on Florida’s Gulf Coast to the Atlantic Coast of Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Trump said his approach to the environment is focused on improvements, not ideology. “The left’s agenda isn’t about protecting the environment, it’s about punishing America,” Trump said. “Instead of focusing on radical ideology, my administration is focusing on delivering real results, and that’s what we have.” READ |

| COVID AID Republicans in the Senate plan to introduce a new coronavirus aid package today. It would provide a $300 expanded unemployment benefit until the end of the year, help small business with payroll, and provide liability protections for businesses. But Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the bill “is headed nowhere.” Pelosi and Democrats wanted $1 trillion for state and local aid, but Republicans have called that provision a "bailout." READ |
