Off the back of two brilliant recent wins, Team DSM’s Development program took their third of the season today after Lorenzo Milesi battled to victory on the uphill fight to the line at Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux.
Faced with grizzly conditions it was set to be a tough day out for the peloton on the opening stage. Riding brilliantly as a unit, the team overcame some bad luck to make sure they were present at the front for the key moments, where the breakaway went and Milesi infiltrated the move. Riding well out front, it became clear the breakaway would fight it out for the stage win on the final climb. Milesi launched a stinging move in sight of the flamme rouge, immediately getting a gap over those behind him. Gritting his teeth and not looking back, Milesi gave everything he had until the finish line as those behind desperately tried to catch him. It was to no avail though, as Milesi just had enough left in the tank to hold on and take his first win for the team; the Development program's third of the season.
