Hyperallergic’s latest Sunday Edition was about California design, with a focus on Los Angeles and social activism. I had a lot of fun producing the issue with KCET Artbound. There are many gems in there, including a new documentary on Sister Corita, a gorgeous photo essay on Latinx storefronts in LA, and the history of a magazine that fought anti-Asian sentiment at UCLA and beyond. Also, yesterday was a good day, as I spent part of my morning cloud-gazing with museums. And don’t miss Umar Rashid’s imaginative solo show at Transformative Arts, which closes in a week. His work is also on view in Made in LA — you still have a little over a month for that one. — Elisa Wouk Almino, Senior Editor | |
