It was a daunting task to think of how to sum up 2020. Rather than put together our usual best exhibitions roundup, which would’ve proved difficult considering most venues have been closed most of the year, I decided to look back on our Los Angeles coverage this year. Revisiting our contributors’ thoughtful reporting, reviews, and essays helped me to process and digest a chaotic time in our lives. It really did make me realize how art and culture can be a powerful and meaningful way of processing the world around us.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support this year and subscribing to this newsletter. Hyperallergic wouldn’t be what it is without its readers.
Happy almost New Year!
