Exemptions in place for "futile" pregnancies
By KELLY P. KISSEL | Metro editor State health officials have released a list of exemptions from Louisiana's abortion law. The Legislature had asked the Department of Health to come up with a list of abnormalities that would make a pregnancy "medically futile," which is not a medical term. Doctors who want to use the broadest exception would need to get a second doctor to agree with the diagnosis. Baton Rouge has exceeded five dozen homicides this year. While the pace isn't as high as some recent years, it's still alarming. Here's the latest. The Fat Cow restaurant near LSU has closed. We have the skinny. I'll show myself out. |
