Louisiana regulators no longer fining insurers who draw customer complaints

Spare the rod: Under Louisiana's previous insurance commissioner, companies who were sluggish in paying claims were often fined. Under the current regime, that has not proven to be the case. Sam Karlin has a look at this administration's approach to dealing with bad apples.

Coastal restoration: A $285 million effort to restore the Chandeleur Islands could soon be underway. Mark Schleifstein recently visited the 2,000-year-old barrier island chain and has this report. 

Counterintuitive vote: The U.S. Supreme Court recently decided to effectively uphold, for now, an electoral map that gives Louisiana a second majority-Black congressional district. But the decision raised eyebrows over the composition of the vote, with the court's three liberal justices effectively voting against creating a second majority-Black district. Mark Ballard explains why.
