Louisiana disaster money at stake as Congress feuds

Money fight: Federal disaster relief funds are running low this year, and in order to replenish the pot and grant aid to Louisiana and other states that need it, Congress must end its feud over which projects to finance, Mark Ballard reports. See which Louisiana projects are at stake. 


Southern U: The federal Departments of Education and Agriculture say Louisiana has for decades shortchanged Southern University, James Finn reports. The feds say $1.1 billion has been lost to Southern over 30 years, and they want Gov. John Bel Edwards to rectify the situation. 


Nelson drops out: State Rep. Richard Nelson has ended his bid for governor after it failed to gain traction, Finn reports. Nelson has also endorsed Attorney General Jeff Landry, the current Republican front-runner. In recent polls, Nelson has been at the bottom of the field.
