What to know as Legislature begins regular session

Back in session: State lawmakers will return to Baton Rouge Monday for their third legislative session in as many months. The big-ticket items this session include proposals to revamp public education and loosen rules on property insurers in the state. Our reporters have the story.

Cash is coming: Louisiana will get tens of millions of dollars under the $460 billion government spending plan the U.S. Senate agreed to Friday, Mark Ballard reports. To benefit are the Barksdale Air Force Base, Gretna, Westwego, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, and more.

Teacher pay: Louisiana teachers could again get $2,000 pay bumps next school year, and some could get even more than that, if lawmakers agree to requests by the state school board. Patrick Wall has the story.
