Louisiana will let schools show videos from controversial right-wing website

BY JESSICA WILLIAMS | Capitol News Bureau Editor

PragerU and schools: Louisiana will allow public school teachers to show students videos by PragerU, a right-wing media nonprofit that produces "pro-America" content, Patrick Wall reports. The videos, including one in which a cartoon Christopher Columbus tells kids that slavery is better than death, have sparked criticism.

Ankle monitors: A bill aimed at bringing more oversight to firms that provide ankle monitors for defendants is headed to Gov. Jeff Landry's desk, after past investigations have found that people wearing the devices have gone on to commit crimes.

14 bills now law: Gov. Jeff Landry has signed 14 legislative bills into law, Meghan Friedmann reports, including proposals to create a 25-foot buffer around police in the line of duty and to criminalize the possession of abortion pills.
