Louisiana moves teens from Angola

By Jessica Williams | Capitol News Bureau Editor

Angola youth: Louisiana officials on Friday began moving teenagers out of the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola, in line with a U.S. District Court judge's order that the teens be removed from what she called "intolerable" conditions, James Finn reports. Despite the order, the state has fought for the right to keep the teens in the prison.

Campaign finance: No candidate in the governor's race has been able to surpass Attorney General Jeff Landry's fundraising lead, according to the latest campaign finance reports. Sam Karlin reports that Landry has $6.9 million to spend. This story will be updated throughout the day.

Governor debate: All seven candidates for governor will meet in a televised debate in Lafayette Friday night, Tyler Bridges reports. Landry will share the debate stage with his opponents for the first time this election. It's likely he'll face heavy criticism.
