NARVESON | Deputy Metro Editor At a time when Louisianans face a multitude of obstacles, 79% say they plan to stay here over the next five years, according to a poll commissioned by The Times-Picayune | The Advocate. It's not that they are living with blinders on either: Just 43% of those polled feel positively about the quality of life in the state. Overall, the poll shows a pervading sense among residents that Louisiana is home.
Offering to cover Jeff Landry's office with a level of secrecy, an amended bill in the state Senate would exempt the governor's office from releasing virtually all communications in response to public records requests. But the measure would be much less severe than a proposal initially pushed by Landry.
