Too much licensing red tape?

Should you have to get a license before you can get paid to braid hair? What about if you want to be a florist or a barber?

Most people agree that there are some potentially dangerous jobs that should require licenses and government oversight. But some argue Louisiana has gone too far, mandating onerous training, licensing and fees for jobs that don't really need them. 

This story explains how the state legislature might start rolling back some of those rules. 


Where should a new bridge go?

There's growing momentum to build a new bridge over the Mississippi River, in hopes of alleviating some of Baton Rouge's occasionally apocalyptic traffic. But if that happened, where would it go?
