NARVESON | Staff writer In Louisiana's hospitals: Two drugs used in pregnancy care are now under lock and key, with special requirements for their prescription, possession and storage in Louisiana after a new law took effect Tuesday. The drugs, mifepristone and misoprostol, are used for abortions, but are also routinely used to manage miscarriages, induce labor, insert IUDs and stop hemorrhaging in pregnant and postpartum women. Louisiana’s largest hospitals said they are prepared to adapt to the law. But already, doctors have said, the law is impacting care with physicians concerned about how and when they can prescribe the medications. Read the full story here. New learning digs: Construction on a new, $152 million library at LSU is expected to start in 2026, university officials say — and it won't be in the same place as the old one.
