State vape ban: The Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control has released a list of nearly 400 vape products now allowed in Louisiana, Kasey Bubnash reports. On it are various JUUL products, ZYN nicotine pouches, Vuse and BIDI stick products. Missing are Elf Bars, Puff Bars and EscoBars.
Parental leave: With just two months left in office, Gov. John Bel Edwards has granted all state employees six weeks of paid parental leave, Robert Stewart reports. It's unclear whether Gov.-elect Jeff Landry will keep the benefit, which is widely supported.
Cantrell flights: The state Board of Ethics has charged New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell with violating state ethics law after she took 15 first-class flights over two years, Sam Karlin reports. Cantrell spent nearly $29,000 in public money to fly first class, but repaid the money last year. |
