SEPULVADO DIES: Christopher Sepulvado, the 81-year-old death row prisoner who was scheduled to be executed on March 17, has died. His death comes with Louisiana set to resume executions after 15 years under Gov. Jeff Landry's orders. Sepulvado died at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola after being on death row for more than 30 years. See the full story from John Simerman and Meghan Friedmann.
COST OF LIVING: A first-of-its-kind government effort was intended to help dozens of families move to higher ground from Louisiana’s disappearing coastline. But the former residents of Isle de Jean Charles are finding their new homes come with costs they may not be able to afford. Alex Lubben has the story.
DISCRIMINATION VERDICT: A federal jury has ruled that New Orleans jeweler Mignon Faget discriminated against a pregnant woman who requested family leave while employed by the company. The jury decided that Mignon Faget has to pay Shelby Webb Cox $100,000 in punitive damages along with back pay after firing her in February 2023, shortly after she requested maternity leave, records show.
