Surgeon general speaks: Louisiana's surgeon general told state lawmakers on Thursday that he would have done "just about everything" differently in Louisiana during the COVID-19 pandemic, that public health measures were an assault on personal freedoms, that masks don't work and social distancing is "ridiculous." School zone cameras: Following a public outcry, the city is dismissing speeding tickets issued by cameras in school zones outside of the posted times. Julia Guilbeau has what you need to know here.
Higgins will likely face censure vote: U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins will likely face a censure vote over his disparaging comments about Haitians, though political observers say it likely won't have much effect on his political fortunes. Mark Ballard has this report.
