Louisiana sues Biden administration over LGBTQ+ policies

BY JESSICA WILLIAMS | Capitol News Bureau Editor

LGBTQ+ rules: Attorney General Liz Murrill has sued the Biden administration over federal rules that require Louisiana public schools to let transgender students use the bathrooms of their choice, James Finn reports. The rules would also force teachers to address students by their preferred pronouns.

Landry's agenda: Gov. Jeff Landry's legislative agenda is headed to the state Senate, but will senators play ball? Senators must decide on a constitution rewrite, anti-labor bills, a proposal to gut the public records law and other topics, Tyler Bridges reports.

Public records: If not for public records, former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin may have never gone to jail for bribery, Andrea Gallo reports. Nagin's case is one of many examples of coverups that have been exposed under the state's public records laws, which Landry wants to weaken.
