Louisiana voters are concerned about these issues

By Jessica Williams | Capitol News Bureau Editor

Top issues: A new poll shows that Louisiana voters are increasingly concerned about crime and high insurance rates, even as they continue to lament poor education quality and stagnant job growth, Sam Karlin reports. The poll is a window into what challenges await the next governor.

Abortion access: The same poll shows that half of Louisiana voters want to see abortion access expanded, a year after Roe v. Wade was overturned. Karlin reports that anti-abortion advocates dispute the accuracy of the poll's results.

Landry sues: Attorney General Jeff Landry, a candidate for governor, has teamed up with petrochemical companies to sue the Biden administration after it changed the scope of an upcoming Gulf of Mexico oil and gas lease sale. Those sales typically let companies bid for space to explore and extract oil and gas from the Gulf.
