You pick at Sleeping Bear Dunes?!

A delicious slice of Michigan history is currently ripe for the picking at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Apples have been part of the Sleeping Bear Dunes landscape since the 1800′s, when European settlers planted thousands of trees on farmsteads in what is now the park’s Port Oneida Rural Historic District. Many of those orchards are still producing fruit, and contain historic varieties you won’t find in grocery stores.

U.P. ski resort spa to open new saunas

Mount Bohemia visitors will have two new ways to unwind this winter thanks to a pair of fresh additions to the U.P. resort’s popular Nordic Spa.

The Keweenaw ski resort recently announced that it will be adding two new saunas this winter, including a Himalayan salt sauna and a large panoramic Finnish sauna overlooking the ski slopes.
