Michigan’s hummingbirds are back. Do you know how to feed them?

Only one creature loves sugar more than the human child: The hummingbird. And it’s time to set out the sugar-water feeders: Michigan’s ruby-throated hummingbirds are back. Since late winter these tiny, mighty, jewel-toned birds have been zipping their way northward from their wintering grounds in Central America to their summer homes across the eastern U.S. and Canada. For a few weeks now they’ve been slowly trickling into Michigan, with sightings across the southern portions of the state so far.

In the 1970's, the Kirtland's warbler toed the brink of extinction! So if you get the opportunity to see this incredibly rare bird, you must! In Michigan, that chance briefly returns every spring.

Ludington is such a Lovable Michigan beach town. But a lot of people just go for the beach and miss out on another really cool feature about Luddy. The entrance to Ludington along US-10/East Ludington Avenue is flanked by more than 40 historic homes within a half mile. Organizers plan to create a walking tour of this newly-designated historic district, complete with signage and a pamphlet, this year.
