There are miles upon miles of water trails now open to greet you. The Chain of Lakes Water Trail is a 100-mile paddling pathway spanning four counties. It's like a hiking trail for kayakers, canoeists and paddle boarders. This new trail follows a series of 12 lakes and rivers, giving paddlers access to restaurants, retail stores and other amenities in Ellsworth, Central Lake, Bellaire and Elk Rapids. More of a landlubber? Perhaps mountain biking is in your future. If you have a mountain bike and a desire to check out some amazing trails, head north! Copper Harbor Trails is a nearly 40-mile trail system located in the northern tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula. It's one of the Midwest’s most lauded singletrack mountain bike trail systems. And it is open for the season. Plus, you should take any excuse you can to make a trip up to the Keweenaw.
