Reflecting on our October Wellness Retreats with big hugs & so much love!

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month was a special one! Thanks to the support of our brand partners and the B4BC community, we were able to host not one, but TWO wellness retreats , benefitting 27 survivors and thrivers. From the mountains of Whistler to the beaches of Southern California, both retreats were beautiful and nature-filled, brimming with love, community, and empowerment for our survivors and thrivers. We want to say a special thank you to our presenting sponsors LivOn Labs and Yeti Canada for making these retreats possible and allowing us to support these incredible women during their breast cancer journey.  Keep scrolling for a recap!

Chasing Sunshine Whistler Wellness Retreat presented by Yeti Canda

Whistler, B.C. | September 30 - October 3

Our Whistler Wellness Retreat was an transformative week of connection with the stunning Nita Lake Lodge as the backdrop. Accompanied by a group of powerful women, we celebrated Canada’s National Truth and Reconciliation Day and danced to Mumsie’s drumming as she brought her wisdom from the Lil’Wat First Nation and shared a special blessing for our group. We dove into spiritual philosophy with Tina James and moved our bodies with kindness and intention with Christine Selda. Dr. Kendra Starr provided Traditional Chinese Medicine insight, as well as needles to help move the qi.

We learned about supplements, our nervous systems, and shared personal stories. Rita bathed us in her magical sound and served up some heart opening cacao. We rode bikes through the huge cedars, and paddle boarded on the beautiful Nita Lake. We brushed ourselves with cedar branches, and dove in the freezing cold waters of Nita Lake to wash away our fears and soothe our souls. We laughed, we cried, we sang, we danced!

It was another magical Wellness Retreat. Thank you to all of the attendees who showed up with open hearts, and to all of our donors and sponsors for making retreats like this possible, especially our presenting sponsor Yeti Canada!

Encinitas, CA presented by LivOn Labs

Los Angeles, CA | October 26 - 27th

Our Encinitas Wellness Retreat brought sun, surf, and a beautiful group of women. Although they came in different stages of their breast cancer journey, we shared the intention to heal and to love, and that we did. 🩷

We woke up with the sun for yoga + breathwork with Megs and Daniella and fell asleep to the sounds of Rita’s healing bowls and chimes. We surfed with JP, Kyla, and the incredible SurfinFire crew, e-biked with Electra, and enjoyed nourishing meals prepared by Laura and the teen dream team Flora & Leighli. We shared this time with incredible company, and formed deep connections with our survivorship community.

A huge hug of gratitude to the sponsors and donors that make these retreats possible, and a special thank you to our presenting sponsor LivOn Labs. And of course thank you to the incredible souls that showed up with an open heart and mind, you inspire us!

"...I am changed from the time spent at the retreat. I was scared to attend. I had irrational thoughts that hearing stories and talking about cancer would bring more fear. It did the opposite. I walked away feeling educated, empowered and fearless. I am in awe of the women after hearing their stories. And I surfed! I popped up and rode the first wave after telling myself that my arm/chest wasn’t ready. Because of that wave I am pushing myself in more ways. I feel like I am back home in my body. I remember now how strong I am."

The power of community was evident in every moment of our Chasing Sunshine Wellness Retreats, providing a foundation of love and encouragement for the profound impact these retreats have on not only our survivors, but us here at B4BC. Connecting with our survivorship community with each other and the resources and support available to them is the reason we do what we do, and it’s through the generosity and openness of our sponsors, donors, facilitators and participants that we are able to create such transformative experiences. Together we are all building a network of healing and resilience that extends far beyond the retreats themselves, fostering ongoing connections and community for our survivors and thrivers when they need it most. 🩷
