Help us help London’s
local businesses
Imagine how bummed out you’d be if your favourite Ethiopian restaurant closed. Now imagine how much sadder you’d feel if your favourite cactus store closed too. Okay, now imagine what would happen if all the independent local restaurants, pubs, shops, cinemas and theatres in London closed. We’re determined to prevent such a nightmarish future from occurring and have launched our Love Local campaign, to help small businesses get through this disastrous period. They make this city what it is. We owe them their survival.

Something a bit different for you today. It can’t all be pub quizzes and blockbuster theatre. Why not break up Tuesday with a bit of actual science, courtesy of our buddies at the Natural History Museum? Join scientist Zach Dickeson for an interactive talk on the future of our interplanetary neighbour Mars. You can ask questions and everything. Just don’t embarrass yourself by mentioning aliens or anything.

Blissful pixel pushing
Videogames used to be (sort of) relaxing. Not any more. These days most gaming is a nerve-shredding, emotionally brutal ordeal, usually involving fiddly controls and convoluted plots that make ‘Game of Thrones’ look like CBeebies. That’s not what any of us need right now, is it? How about slowly pushing some coloured blocks around a screen, accompanied by ambient music? That’s a bit more like it. Check out our list of minimalist phone games you can download for free. Mmm, zen.
