Mother's Day security: There were 40 state and local law enforcement officers patrolling the New Orleans Lakefront on Mother's Day, but the holiday crowds they were supposed to be monitoring couldn't really be described as crowds at all. Josie Abugov has the scene from the Lakefront, where holiday security was intensified for the second time this year. 'The Secret Room': Hidden inside an Arabi oddities shop, "The Secret Room" offers a painfully cathartic collection of anonymous confessions of sex, crime and addiction plastered all over its walls. Doug MacCash visited the room and talked with owner Brent Walker about the inspiration behind it. Film production drops off: U.S. film and TV production has been hammered by setbacks in recent years, from the COVID-19 pandemic and Hollywood guild strikes to recent wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
