with Matthew Albright | Assistant metro editorGood morning. Here are some of our biggest stories from yesterday. No Lombardi Trophy for Joe Burrow...yetThe Super Bowl didn't turn out the way a lot of LSU fans hoped. Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase's Cincinnati Bengals lost to the Los Angeles Rams. But there's still a lot for LSU fans to love. Andrew Whitworth ended a long career in storybook fashion, not just with a Super Bowl ring but with the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. And Odell Beckham Jr. gets a ring too. He went out in the second quarter with a knee injury, but only after he made a spectacular touchdown on his first catch of the game. Burrow and Chase are still only in their second season. Somehow I bet they'll be back. A new approach to stopping homicides? After Baton Rouge broke its record for homicides the last two years in a row, some local leaders think the city needs some new strategies to stop violence. The District Attorney, Hillar Moore, is launching a new homicide review commission, which he says will try and tackle the issues that lead to shootings before they start. Here's an explanation of how he says it will work, and the success story in another city he's basing it on. A feared deer diseaseChronic Wasting Disease is widely feared among hunters and conservationists for the damage it can do to deer and other animals.
