 By KELLY P. KISSEL LSU overpaid football coach Brian Kelly by $1 million last year. In the grand scheme, it's not a big deal: the coach is due at least $95 million over the course of a 10-year deal. Still, the university and the coach have come up with a plan to balance the payments by the end of the 2023 fiscal year.
The death of an LSU student is having an impact on the campus and beyond. A Tigerland bar has seen its liquor license suspended; four men have been named in rape or rape-related accusations; and some students say the school's turning attention to the issue of underage drinking distracts from a bigger threat of sexual violence. "Alcohol did not cause her rape or her death," said the president of the advocacy group STAR.
