What's making news in Baton Rouge...

with Matthew Albright | Assistant metro editor

Well that LSU game sure went down to the wire, didn't it? But, hey, a win's a win — and, as our sports columnist Scott Rabalais writes, the Tigers sure needed that win.

Now who's ready to see what how Saints handle the Falcons with Drew Brees out?

Outside the football stadiums, Louisiana is bracing for what appears to be a third major spike in coronavirus cases. Nursing homes — and the loved ones of those who live in them — say they're more prepared this time, though of course anxiety still lingers. And the virus has changed the race for Baton Rouge mayor, becoming both a central issue and a factor in how candidates campaign.

Speaking of city-parish politics: We're going to have a very different-looking Metro Council next year, and the District 1 race could decide what the political balance on that council looks like.

We've got this and a lot more for your Sunday morning reading. Thanks for your support!
