LSU needs a third-down fix ... and fast

A few years ago, LSU fans learned to call third-and-long situations "Third and Chavis" because John Chavis was the defensive coordinator and the Tigers allowed teams to move the chains frequently.

In Sunday's season opener against Florida State, third downs were again LSU's Waterloo. The Seminoles converted 11 of 17 third-down opportunities, a major factor in their 24-23 victory. How the Tigers go about fixing that issue will be critical to getting back to the program's former winning ways.

Southern, which visits Tiger Stadium on Saturday, is the first HBCU LSU will have ever faced in football. Coach Brian Kelly has some thoughts on the "historical perspective" of the game.

Former coach Ed Orgeron is still making headlines. Read what he has to say about the day he got fired from LSU.

If you're thinking of laying a wager on one of this weekend's college games, we've got a tip sheet for you right here.

While football is now thankfully in full swing, basketball season really isn't that far away. Wednesday we got our first look at LSU's full 2022-23 schedule under new coach Matt McMahon.

And, finally, we take a look back at five memorable home openers for the Tigers, who begin their 99th season of play in Tiger Stadium.

Thanks for reading, and subscribing. We'll be with you every day through the football season with the latest coverage on the Tigers.
