LSU sets $107 million building project

LSU's construction management department will have a new $107 million home in a few years, thanks in part to fundraising efforts by former graduates of the program.

Groundbreaking on the Construction & Advanced Manufacturing Building should start in 2026, department chairman Charles Berryman said. The work should be completed by spring 2028.

A $2.3 million grant from the state’s Public Service Commission is going to help the East Baton Rouge school system save thousands of dollars each year by modernizing the energy efficiency controls at six school sites.

The highest annual savings are expected at Liberty High with an estimated $86,548, followed by Baton Rouge Magnet High at $84,947.
