Also, the first buzz about who could be LSU's next football coach.
with Matthew Albright | Assistant metro editorIt was a busy afternoon of news in Baton Rouge yesterday. Here's everything you need to know: 'LSU must answer'LSU is again under fire for its handling of sexual misconduct. This time, multiple students say a French graduate student raped or sexually harassed them, and they accuse administrators of failing to help stop it. On Monday afternoon, a crowd of students marched from the Parade Ground to Hodges Hall, where the French Department is housed, to protest the situation. Our reporters and photographers were on the scene: You can read all about it here. Who's the next LSU coach?Elsewhere on campus, the rumor mill was in overdrive after news that Ed Orgeron's tenure as football coach is ending after this season. Several prominent coaches for other teams were asked Monday if they were considering the LSU job, including Jimbo Fisher and Lane Kiffin. Here's what our columnist Scott Rabalais thinks about the search. Should NBA YoungBoy get out of jail? After famed Baton Rouge rapper "NBA YoungBoy" was recently arrested — again — a judge made pretty clear she didn't think he should be let out of jail on bond again. To try and change her mind, the rapper's attorneys and associates have proposed moving him to a house in Utah where they would build an in-home recording studio. And the home would be patrolled with ex-military guards. Our reporter was in court to hear the pitch, and how prosecutors responded to it. You can check it all out here. Thanks for reading, and have a great day! |
