Good morning from soggy Omaha. The LSU Tigers and UCLA Bruins will resume their suspended College World Series game at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the Tigers leading 5-3 going to the top of the fourth inning. At stake is control of their side of the CWS bracket, one win away from the CWS championship series. Our Koki Riley has all the details here. I wrote a quick column late into the night, thinking about how LSU coach Jay Johnson had to wrestle with who to pitch when the game restarts, and who to save for what comes next. Meanwhile, the Jell-O Shot Challenge rolls on at Rocco's just across the street from Charles Schwab Field Omaha, home of the CWS. As you might expect, LSU fans are again putting themselves into the lead, one shot at a time. Among the Tiger fans in attendance at Monday's game? A pair of former Tigers: ex-LSU pitching star Paul Skenes and former LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne. The power Tiger couple were in the front row before the rain started falling. And finally, four LSU players were named Monday to the prestigious NCBWA All-American team. That's all for now, folks. Be sure to check out our updates from LSU's resumed game with UCLA on Tuesday morning. Scott Rabalais |
