| Kurt Hofmann Premium Content  Lufthansa will focus on further developing its premium carriers, but expects strong competition in Germany, CEO Carsten Spohr said, revealing a new, modernized brand image for the German carrier that drops the gray from the underside and engines as well as the yellow circle behind the company’s 100-year-old crane logo on the tail for a purely blue-and-white exterior.

| Mark Nensel Premium Content  Fort Lauderdale-based ultra-LCC Spirit Airlines posted a $420.6 million net profit for 2017, a 58.8% increase over a $264.9 million net income in 2016. Spirit cited a one-time, non-cash $199.3 million tax credit courtesy of the late 2017 US tax reform legislation, as part of the reason for the increase.
