Can you buy a new planter now? Probably not. And you can’t find many used models on dealer lots either. As a result, when planters are included in an auction lineup they will likely bring big dollars, such as this Kinze 4705 that sold for more than $325,000.
 
 
 

Farmers are selected by access to land, period. That means they are born to the right parents or have very good luck. The next generation of farmers is often unseen since they're working another job until there's room for them to join. But like farmland, the supply of aspiring farmers is more than ample for the foreseeable future.
