“When you want a friend in Washington, get a dog” President Joe Biden got a new German shepherd puppy named Commander, announcing the newest resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in a video posted to his Twitter account. Commander's arrival coincides with the departure of his predecessor, Major, who never really adjusted to the hectic atmosphere of the White House and was involved in a few unfortunate incidents; he's being rehomed with Biden family friends. Of course, Twitter had some opinions about the new First Dog, including cooing over the pup's adorably large pointy ears, criticisms over the stalling of Biden's policy agenda, and wondering what the heck happened to that promised White House cat (now supposed to arrive in January). Meet the latest Biden, and read the reactions, here. |
