The University of Maine women’s ice hockey team has its home opener this weekend in Orono, against Quinnipiac University. The puck drops at the Alfond Arena at 6 p.m. Friday and at 3 p.m. Saturday. In high school football, there are three key games all set for 7 p.m. Friday: Stearns/Schenck High School is at Orono High School, Bangor High School is at Lawrence High School in Fairfield, and Hampden Academy is at Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro.
