This Waldo County man is on a mission from God to help homeless people

• A Stockton Springs man is working hard to help the more apparent homeless and housing insecure people of Waldo County, the ones who often do sleep rough. In his case, he’s doing it because he feels he’s on a mission from God.

  Over the last year, Matt Bolduc,35, has become something of an activist, starting a new group called “From Above,” which advertises itself as offering a hand up and not a hand out.

• Philip Clark, 56, of Hampden has pleaded not guilty to intentional or knowing murder in the shooting death of Renee Henneberry Clark, 49, on July 11, 2018. Her body was found two days after she died in the bedroom of her apartment at 557 Kennebec Road in Hampden. The case will go to the jury after closing arguments and six days of testimony.

• With the sale of Bangor-based Central Maine and Quebec Railway to the nationwide Canadian Pacific Railway, Maine will have a Class 1 railroad for the first time since the 1980s.

• The company that operates the state-owned landfill, Casella Waste Systems, currently uses a flare to burn off the methane it collects from the decomposition of organic waste, but has made multiple efforts over the last decade to reuse that methane for another purpose.

• The Black Bears are among only a handful of Football Championship Subdivision football programs that play two games each season against higher-level Football Bowl Subdivision teams. In 2020, UMaine will take on Ball State and Connecticut.

• The legendary Mister Rogers has never really left the public's imagination. With the new Tom Hanks-starring biopic “A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood,” in movie theaters this weekend, Mister Rogers is as popular as he’s ever been. The TV icon has been a presence in this Husson University educator's office for more than two decades.
