Good weather for getting outside this weekend. Highs Saturday will be in the 30s across the state, with a few upper 20s in the far north. Sunday highs range from the teens in the far northwest corner of Minnesota to near 40 in far southeastern Minnesota. Snow chance Sunday night and Monday in southern Minnesota. (FYI, we have a series of maps to help you find spots for outdoor activities around the state!)

Counties refuse to reimburse DHS for $9 million in overpayments. Counties say it’s not their fault, and it’s the DHS who made the mistake. County budgets are already set for the year, and some officials say they don’t have extra money available. The bills range from $46 for Dodge County to nearly $2.2 million for Hennepin County.

A new housing project in St. Paul supports homeless Native young adults. “Mino Oski Ain Dah Yung”, meaning “good new home” in Ojibwe, will provide residents with housing and help them with education and employment. According to a 2018 study, 12 percent of homeless people interviewed identified as American Indian in Minnesota while Native Americans account for just about 1 percent of the state population.

It’s been more than four years since the medical marijuana program started in Minnesota. How’s it been doing? The state recently unveiled a plan to add chronic pain and an eye disease to the program’s list of qualifying conditions. But there are still relatively few people using the program and some patients say it’s too expensive.
