Up to a foot of snow expected to fall in Minnesota. A winter storm warning is in effect for much of Minnesota through Saturday morning. The metro area could see double-digit snowfall totals and 6 to 12 inches of snow is expected for other parts of the state by late Saturday.

It’d be best not to drive in these kinds of whiteout conditions, but if you have to, here are  some tips you should know before hitting the road amid a major snowstorm.

Today was the first day Minnesota voters cast ballots for president. Some passionate voters even camped out overnight to be the first in line. Starting today, Minnesotans can vote for the presidential primary until March 3 -- Super Tuesday when 14 other states also hold their primary elections.

Did you also vote today? Or are you considering early voting in the primary? What motivated you?  We want to hear your story

For your snowed-in time this weekend, here are some “happy-ever-after” romance novels. This month, the Thread is celebrating an old favorite trope: Enemies who fall for each other. Sparks and witty banter fly in these three novels, starring rival TV hosts, youth pastors and fashion executives.

What are your hopes for Minnesota’s future? This election season, we want to hear from voters not just about who they're supporting, but about the issues important to them and how they'd like to see Minnesota change. Share your perspective with us here and help inform our journalism.
