Sunday, November 20, 2 - 3 pm The Dance Cooperative, in association with CAM, provides informal showings to afford working choreographers and dancers a place to present works in progress to be reviewed and critiqued in a nurturing environment. The public is invited to witness the creative process through its many stages and provide assistance to help the creator grow the works to realize their concepts to the fullest potential. Critics, jazz hosts and jazz lovers all agree that Lenore Raphael is one of the most swinging mainstream pianists today. Lenore is a classically trained bebop pianist who has been influenced greatly by Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, Bud Powell, Bill Evans et al. and has created her own recognizable style. As a performer, she has gotten rave reviews and standing ovations at such prestigious venues as Jazz At Lincoln Center, Birdland, Ronnie Scott's in London as well as numerous jazz festivals in New York City and around the world.

| ILLUSTRATED LECTURE "The Art & Agriculture Project" Catherine Cross Tsintoz

From 1978 until 1983, Catherine Cross Tsintozos worked as a community organizer for the small family farm in North Carolina. In May 2012, she decided to revisit farms and take another look at what was happening with agriculture in the New South. An interdisciplinary artist who has a clear purpose in building and crossing bridges among the arts, she has a deep focus and balance between artistic practice, teaching, activism and invitation of participation. Through the lens of artistic practice she creates crop based works that examines people, place and the land. With the "Art and Agriculture Project" Tsintzos connects agriculture food sourcing, sustainability, economic systems, history and water sourcing with constructed objects and building environments. Held in conjunction with the exhibition Art From Flour: Barrel to Bag (on view through February 12, 2017).

| EXHIBITION
December 3 - January 8 Drawing inspiration from traditional lantern festivals that mark the season's change and year's end, over forty artists created new and original hand-built lanterns. With the lanterns illuminating both the darkness of longer nights and the beginnings of the future, this exhibition will give rise to a shared experience of reflection and anticipation.
Opening Party Friday December 2, 6-8 pm CAM Members: $10 per admission / Not Yet Members: $16 per admission Be among the first to experience over forty hand-built lanterns created by artists from the Cape Fear area and across the U.S. while enjoying light refreshments, cash bar and live music by legendary entertainer Grenoldo Frazier.
