CHICAGO: The Pendry Chicago is slated to open in spring 2021 as an extension of the Pendry Hotels & Resorts. Located inside the Carbide & Carbon Building in Chicago’s West Loop, the hotel will have 364 guestrooms and suites along with a signature restaurant and bar, curated wellness programming, and 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: Catering by Lovables has been acquired by Bill Hansen Catering and renamed Lovables Catering + Kitchen. Both brands will continue to operate as usual while the acquisition brings new menus for home and delivery services.

NEW YORK: American Express has opened its 13th Centurion Lounge at John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK)’s Terminal 4. The lounge boasts 15,000 square feet of space, an 1850s-themed speakeasy bar in reference to the company’s founding year, and an Equinox Body Lab wellness experience designed for card members to travel safely.

ORLANDO/CENTRAL FLORIDA: The Ocala Recreation and Parks department is hosting the city’s annual Boo Bash on Oct. 31. The family-friendly event is free and encourages attendees to wear costumes while safely participating in games and trick-or-treating activities. A 50-guest capacity will be placed on each time slot, which guests must reserve in advance to attend.

SAVANNAH, GA: The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is hosting its 23rd annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival virtually from Oct. 24-31. The festival connects students from every academic background with entertainment-industry professionals through master classes, coffee talks, workshops, and more while promoting movies produced by independent and studio filmmakers.
