Making downtown Lafayette safer, cleaner

By ADAM DAIGLE | Acadiana Business Editor

Welcome to the Friday edition of the Acadiana Business Newsletter. Let's get to the headlines....

Now that downtown Lafayette is populated with restaurants, bars, parks, shops and museums, there's an effort to make the district safer and cleaner.

Kevin Blanchard, the new CEO of the Downtown Development Authority, plans to make that happen through a city ordinance that targets underage drinking, a new neighbor-to-neighbor initiative and offering better services for those experiencing homelessness.

Be sure to check out the photos from the inside of Jim Deggy's Brick Oven Pizza. It made me wonder what took someone so long to move into that building. Lots of windows and natural light, very visible on the edge of downtown. Very impressive inside.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading.
