Making 'Poker Face' Was Like Making 'Glass Onion' 10 Times
In decades past, shows like Columbo, Quantum Leap, and The Rockford Files introduced and solved a mystery over the course of an hour or so, but were made with the quality and care of a feature film. Rian Johnson, writer and director of both Knives Out and its sequel Glass Onion, was a huge fan of these shows in his youth, logging countless hours in front of his TV just taking in episode after episode. He missed this kind of show, and recognized its absence from today's ever-expansive choices. But it wasn't until he befriended Natasha Lyonne, and saw her charismatic work in Netflix's Russian Doll, that he realized they could be the duo to bring these mysteries back. Enter Poker Face, Johnson’s brand new show on Peacock that just so happens to be exactly as much fun as the ambitious premise promises.
