Hey Google! So, What's Next for Publishers?

Questions keep piling up about how marketers, ad tech firms and publishers will carry out basic digital marketing techniques once third-party cookies are dead and buried.

As I covered last week, the common consensus is a more privacy-led future is a good thing, and will ultimately, hopefully, lead to higher yields for publishers. But there will be some short-term pain before we get there, thanks to some Google-created confusion.

Not to mention, there’s a long tail of publishers without big brand pulling power, or those over-reliant on the open marketplace, that will feel the sharper end of this.

To make sense of some of the chaos, we’re hosting a town hall today, March 8, at 12 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. GMT. Guests include News Corp.'s Stephanie Layser, The Trade Desk's Dave Pickles and Jamie Seltzer from Havas Media.

As Ronan Shields mentioned in his Friday newsletter, Google declined an invitation to participate as a featured speaker. But we will still all hash out some of the questions that still linger in our minds in an interactive session. Sign up here. Hopefully, see you there!

On that note, please consider supporting our journalism with an Adweek+ Subscription and gain full access to all of Adweek's essential coverage and resources.

Thanks for reading and have a great week!
