ESAB continues to unleash a storm of innovation with its growing Rebel family. At SEMA, we unveiled Rebel EMP 205ic AC/DC—the world’s first portable, true all-process welder. The following week at FABTECH, we unveiled Rebel EMP 285ic—the most industrial Rebel yet.

Fabricators who want it all can now have it all: the first portable, “true” all-process portable welder for MIG, Flux-Cored, Stick, DC TIG and now AC TIG applications.

Rebel EMP 205ic AC/DC welds with all metals and processes using a single unit. For customers who need AC TIG for aluminum applications and DC TIG for steel and stainless, Rebel 205 AC/DC gives them both, including full-function controls for AC TIG welding, such as HF start, adjustable AC output frequency (up to 400 Hz), adjustable AC wave balance control (up to 99 percent EN) and pulse capability.

Users are already impressed by what Rebel EMP 205ic AC/DC can do. See reactions from the shows here.

Rebel EMP 205ic AC/DC will be available for sale Q2 2018. Anticipated Manufacturer Suggested Price is $2,999.

The most industrial Rebel yet is coming. Rebel EMP 285ic is a machine that combines true industrial performance for the shop with the power, portability and multi-process flexibility fabricators need.

Rebel EMP 285ic’s strong output allows customers to spray transfer with .045-inch wire, and be highly productive with .030- and .035-inch solid wires and .045- and .052-inch Flux-Cored wires. Rebel EMP 285ic will be available in two versions:

+ The 1-phase model accepts 90-270V primary power, providing a rated output of 285 amps at 40% duty cycle and maximum output of 300 amps/36 volts.
+ The 3-phase model accepts 380-575V primary, providing a rated output of 285 amps at 50% duty cycle and maximum output of 350 amps/36 volts.

Rebel EMP 285ic will be available for sale Q1 2018. Anticipated Manufacturer Suggested Price is $2,899.

No matter what machine fits your customer’s needs, you can assure them it will stay true to what makes Rebel a rebel. We’ve maintained all of the features and benefits end-users love about Rebel EMP multi-process welders. Learn more about the Rebel DNA here:
