Hi John,

I spent a few days in Phoenix with family - so good being with people I've known my whole life. Phoenix hit 110°, but that dry heat wasn't too bad. Celebrated Father's Day early with my dad and uncle, made it home for my husband, plus a big birthday celebration for my older daughter.

I brought my art journal supplies to Arizona. Travel journaling is one of my great joys. The landscape and tourist magazines inspired this page:

I brought early Art Prompt Card prototypes - scribbled on index cards. This one inspired a journal page. Want to try it?

Cut out 3 magazine images and combine them to create something new or inspiring.

My older daughter is a serious baker who makes our family the most fantastical birthday cakes. Ages ago, she had free rein in the kitchen (see this post about Creative Cooking), where we encouraged trial and error. When her birthday came, we returned the favor. My younger daughter made this: dulce de leche with blackberry filling...

My younger daughter and I both adore vintage things, and found our way to a used book sale. I came away with an old dictionary, a Chinese language book, songbooks, atlases, a kids' encyclopedia, and a comic book. We had the best time, and these gems are already finding their way into my college work.

I've been thinking about packaging some of these paper gems up into packs, available on my website. Is that something you'd be interested in?

Happy making,

Rachelle
