Situational Analysis | August 7, 2023

It's Monday and the beginning of National Simplify Your Life Week. I need me some of that.....

What You Need to Know

  • Celeste Maloy and Bruce Hough have met twice, out of ten scheduled times, to debate and take audience questions prior to the special election to replace Rep. Chris Stewart. The first debate in Davis County on Friday was pretty mild, with little difference between the candidates. The second, in St. George on Saturday, was more contentious, as the two tried to create separation between themselves. Questions about Donald Trump's multiple indictments and his actions on Jan 6, 2021 dominated the Q&A portion. Becky Edwards, the other GOP candidate in the primary, said via her spokeswoman that she would not be attending her opponent's campaign events. The ambitious debate schedule was set up by Maloy.
